Veronica Garton (Kalup)

Veronica "Ronnie" Garton, of Chalfont, PA died on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at her home with her family by her side, after a long and difficult battle with cancer. She was 70.

She was the beloved wife of 46 years to Craig Garton.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kalup and Patricia Lister Kalup and sister of the late Joseph, Billy, Lea, and Mary.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son Stephen Garton and Kim Stanley of North Wales, and daughter Lindsay Senior and son-in-law Scott Senior of Chalfont, her 4 brothers, Thomas Kalup and his wife Joann, Patrick Kalup, Jackie Kalup and his wife Flossie and Edward Kalup, her 3 sisters, Michelle Kalup, Gracie Kalup and Rita Kalup. She is also survived by a large extended family of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

After starting a family with her loving husband Craig, Ronnie directed her focus and energy to caring for those around her. Although she only had 2 biological children, there were many others along the way who grew to refer to her as “ma or mom”. She may have had a tough exterior, but her love for others knew no limits. She was always there to lend a hand, be a shoulder to cry on or feed you if you were hungry. Her baked goods were sought after by family and friends.

Once her two children had grown and moved out, Ronnie was able to enjoy a more relaxing lifestyle. She and Craig would spend their days working in the yard, swimming in the pool with their fur children Frank and Beans or relaxing at their vacation home in upstate Pennsylvania. She also enjoyed visiting the local grocery stores in search of a deal or relaxing and getting a manicure/pedicure so she could show off her awesome pink nail polish.

Though the last few years of her life were incredibly difficult, she never lost the love in her heart or her spunky attitude.

Her family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, August 19, 2022, from 1:00 pm until her celebration of life at 2:30 pm in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. Her interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Doylestown Hospital Hospice, 4259 W. Swamp Road, Suite 204, Doylestown, PA 18902.
