Mary L. Dougherty (Loftus)

Mary L. Dougherty, of Warminster, PA, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at the age of 83. She was the beloved wife of the late Gerry Dougherty.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Mary was the daughter of the late James and Eileen Loftus. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, Mom-Mom, great-grandmother (aka “Mom-Mom the Great”), sister, aunt, and friend.

She graduated from Little Flower High School and later worked as a secretary and office manager for a historical renovations firm. She was dedicated to her faith and was an active parishioner of Nativity of Our Lord Church.

Mary cherished all family time, especially holidays and vacations at the shore with her children and grandchildren. She was recently thrilled to travel to Ireland and Scotland with her family.

Mary had an enormous capacity to give of herself. She exuded kindness and love for all and had an unwavering faith. Strongly devoted to Saint Therese, the Little Flower, Mary emulated the “Little Way” by doing all things—no matter how great or small—with great love. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her kindness and love. She lived her faith every day through little acts of charity and continuously inspired others to do the same.

Mary is survived by her loving and devoted children: Gerry Dougherty Jr. (Stacy) of Telford and Denise Frattara (George) of Warrington. She is also survived by her four dear grandchildren: Mary, Madelyn, George, Jessica (John), her great-grandson: John Jr., her sisters: Claire Lezynski, Eileen Pard (Randy), and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday, August 16, 2022, from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and her funeral mass at 10:30 AM at Nativity of Our Lord Church, 605 W. Street Rd., Warminster, PA 18974. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caring for Friends, 12271 Townsend Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19154.
