Ethel "Toots" Ann Brown (Von Bueren)

Ethel Ann “Toots” Brown, 87, of Warwick, passed away peacefully Friday, August 5, 2022 surrounded by loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward P. Brown, who passed away in 2010.

Survivors include two children, Linda Marshall of Furlong and Michael Brown of Pipersville; and a granddaughter, Erica Lynn Marshall of Marlton, NJ.

Born and raised in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia her journey began on March 23, 1935.  Toots was the daughter of the late Karl F. and Ethel H. (Timperlake) Von Bueren, Jr.  She was preceded in death by her brother Karl F. Von Bueren, III.

Toots attended Lincoln High School in Mayfair and worked as a clerk for Bell Telephone.  Once her true love, Ed Brown, returned from the Navy they married in 1955 and settled in Churchville, PA, where they raised their children Linda and Michael.

Toots was very active in St. John’s United Methodist Church, her children’s school and scouting activities, and community volunteering.  Both Toots and Ed were long time election poll coordinators.  You could find them each election day at Churchville Elementary smoothly running the poll for their neighborhood.   Toots and Ed enjoyed learning about other places and cultures while they extensively traveled in the US and Europe.  She always enjoyed a game of pinochle or bunco with her neighborhood girlfriends, handcrafts of any kind, and the seasonal beauty of Bucks County.

Toots was overjoyed to become Grandma to Erica.  They have shared a special relationship that will be forever cherished by Erica.  Toots instilled a strong work ethic into her family, and always strived for a job well done.  Everyone she met found her sincere, a loyal friend, a true lady, and compassionate and felt blessed to have known her.  Toots will be deeply missed, however has left us all with a lifetime of wonderful memories and inspirations.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for her graveside service at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown.
