Helen I. Hobbib (Isaf)
Helen I. Hobbib of Warminster, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at the age of 97, lovingly surrounded by family. She was the beloved wife of George B. Hobbib having recently celebrated their 72nd wedding anniversary July 29th.
Born in Cortland, New York on February 14, 1925, Helen majored in history at Cortland State Teachers College, graduated with her education degree and taught full-time until she and George married. She was well-regarded by family and friends for her wry sense of humor, lively wit, love of history and current events, and her masterful Mediterranean cooking! A creative chef with an artistic touch, Helen would often be found elaborately dressing for the occasion while serving her family colorful meals and delicious desserts to celebrate holidays or special occasions throughout the year.
While she and her husband loved to travel in their later years, she was a dedicated mother to her children, tirelessly juggling schedules to take them to multiple activities. She also enjoyed engaging in competitions that involved her children and grandchildren. In fact, Helen could often be found cheering from the sideline, impulsively running on to a field to coach (unofficially) or at the age of 85, battling her grandchildren in the pool with super soakers. Friends and family saw Helen as a loving force that never settled for the status quo. She expected much, gave more, and immersed herself in a variety of volunteer activities and organizations. She will be terribly missed by all who had the pleasure and the opportunity to know her.
She is survived by her devoted husband, George; their children, Sally Rumman of Sylvania, OH, Karen Anderson (Thomas) of Holland, OH, Susan Swanson (John) of Virginia Beach, VA, and George C. Hobbib (Patricia) of Newtown; eight grandchildren, Alexandra, Kristine, Georgiana, Robert, Marielle, John, Gabrielle, and Krista; nine great-grandchildren, Saria, Skye, Dane, Garrick, Victor, Camille, Yvonne, Reagan, Helena Rose; sister, Yvonne Lawless; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Saleamie M (Joseph) Isaf; and two brothers, Thomas Isaf and Assad Isaf.
Relatives and friends are invited to join the family Monday, August 15, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, and again Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 11:00am until the prayer service at 12:00pm.
