Carlton E. Hartline

Carlton Edward Hartline, of Huntingdon Valley, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.  He was the beloved husband of the late Jacqueline Studenroth Hartline.  Carlton was 89.

Born in Reading, he was the son of the late LeRoy and Frances Haine Hartline.

Cal and Jackie were married at the New Goshenhoppen Reformed Church in East Greenville, PA on August 29, 1959.  Carlton served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War and was stationed on the USS Cogswell.  After leaving the Navy, Carlton worked at Pennsylvania Optical, where he met Jacqueline.  After their marriage, Cal worked in the automotive industry for many years.  Together they raised four children.  In his retirement, Cal enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, traveling, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Carlton is survived by his children, Nancy Bercich and her husband Brett of Lower Gwynedd, PA, Donna Roycroft of Newnan, GA, Denise Martindell and her husband Scott of Ivyland, PA and Michael Hartline and his wife Patti of Warminster, PA; grandchildren, Frank James and Benjamin Carlton Bercich, Quinn Davis Roycroft, Ryan Tyler and Christopher Chase Martindell, Michael Jarred Hartline, Rin Simon and Samantha Ashley McMaster.  He was preceded in death by granddaughter Paige Madison Hartline.  He is also survived by brothers William Hartline, Frank Hartline, Dennis Hartline; sisters, Patricia Frantz and Linda Klinksieck; and many nieces and nephews. Carlton was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Richard, and Douglas, and his sister, Catherine Brady.

Carlton’s family will receive friends on Saturday, September 3, 2022, from 9:30 am until an 11:00 am Funeral Service at Addisville Reformed Church, 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18954. His interment will follow at Union Cemetery, in Richboro.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Addisville Reformed Church Bell Choir, 945 Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18954.
