Marita "Sissy" L. McTamney (Spain)

Marita (Sissy) Lynn McTamney (Spain), age 53, passed away unexpectedly on August 26, 2022. Marita was the most beautiful mother, doting grandmother, and loyal friend.

Marita is preceded in death by her parents William and Marie Spain. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Jaclyne and Brooke McTamney, her adoring grandson, Kingston (King), her loving companion Andrew (Andy) Thoma, her large network of family and friends, and the McTamney Family.

Born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Levittown, PA, Marita attended Neshaminy High School and Levittown Beauty Academy. She had a passion for design and later received a certificate in this field.

Marita loved traveling, adventures, and her family and friends. Marita devoted her life to making everyone around her feel happy and loved, especially Jaclyne, Brooke, and King. She never failed to put a smile on your face or to make you laugh. One of her greatest gifts was making people feel special. When you were with Marita, she made you feel like you were the most important person in the room. Her smile was truly infectious and her heart was filled with warmth and love. She loved cooking for everyone and planning birthdays and holidays.

Marita was a dedicated mother and she treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as a Grandmom, or “G,” as King affectionately called her. King loved spending time with his G and having sleepovers at her house. Anyone who knew her (or did not know her) knew not to mess with her “cubs.” They were her life’s purpose.

Family and friends are invited to say a final goodbye to Marita on Wednesday, September 7th from 9:30 AM -12:00 PM. The funeral service will begin at 12:00 PM. Both the viewing and the service will be held at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home: 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Road) Richboro, PA 18954. Interment will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Marita’s memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation: 125 South 9th Street, Suite 202, Philadelphia, PA 19107.
