Mary Lee Asplundh (Martin)

On September 12, 2022, Mary Lee (Martin) Asplundh passed into the Spiritual World.  Mimi, as known to all, was preceded by her mother, Estelle (Beck) and her father, C. Leon (Pud) Martin, her husband Paul Scott Asplundh, and most recently her beloved sister and dinner companion, Rachel Martin.

Mimi was raised on a farm in West Chester, PA and loved her dogs. After completing High School, she attended Penn State University where she met her husband and married in the Bryn Athyn Cathedral.  After a whirlwind tour, they settled into Huntingdon Valley, Pa and raised four children.

Mimi was a loving mother and true partner to her husband, supporting him throughout his career and many hobbies.

Mimi’s had many passions and was always up for the challenge. Taking up golf later in life, she quickly mastered the game and usually walked off the green stating "I got my par!"  She belonged to the Huntingdon Valley Garden Club, competed in the Philadelphia Flower Show, and belonged to multiple Bridge clubs.  A beloved grandmother, Mimi cheered her grandchildren on at sporting events and High School performances. The spirit of Mimi always filled the room whether at the stove stirring the mushrooms or instructing young players on field hockey.

Mimi will be forever missed and always loved.  Mimi is survived by her children, Paige Asplundh Cumming (Chris), Scott Martin Asplundh (Hali), Brent David Asplundh (Kelly), Gregg Griffith Asplundh (Camy), twelve grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.

The Service will be held on Saturday, September 17th at 11:00 AM at the Bryn Athyn Cathedral.
