Annie K. Murphy (Fingerhut)

Annie K. Murphy, 90, of Meadowbrook, passed away Thursday, September 15, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late John T. Murphy, Jr.

Born May 20, 1932 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Ava Fingerhut and sister to Nick (Anna) and Michael (Teresa) Fingerhut.

Annie loved animals, especially Koala bears, and would often donate to animal advocacy groups such as the Humane Society, World Wildlife Fund and National Wildlife Federation. She also enjoyed gardening and had a collection of Hummels, and Lenox animal figurines that she was very fond of. She was a big fan of soap operas, country western movies and the Johnny Carson show, and also enjoyed country music, especially John Denver. But most of all she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was always happiest when she was surrounded by her family.

Survivors include five children, John T. Murphy III (Mary Ellen) of Philadelphia, Kevin Murphy of Pensauken, NJ, Michael Murphy of Pensauken, NJ, Catherine Murphy of Bayville, NJ, and Daniel Murphy (Kathleen) of Pensauken, NJ; seven grandchildren, Kate, Mary Beth, John III , Michael, John, Christopher and Danny; and nine great-grandchildren, Henry, Daniel, Nathan, Theo, Lucy, Jack, Danny, Jace and Carson.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Wednesday, September 21, 2022 from 10:00 am until the prayer service at 11:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Richboro. The family will meet for a memorial luncheon at La Stalla Italian Restaurant, 18 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA.

Contributions in Annie’s name can be made to Wounded Warriors, National Wildlife Federation or the Humane Society.
