John P. Murray, Jr.

John P. Murray, Jr. died peacefully and surrounded by his family at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.  He was 54.

Born in Philadelphia, John was the loving son of John P. Murray, Sr., and the late Ann “Nancy” Prendergast Murray.

John graduated from Council Rock High School North and attended Rider University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.  He had a lengthy career as an IT Specialist serving software companies throughout the Philadelphia area.

John was a voracious reader, absorbing countless books on historical events, famous people, and true crime.  He was an expert when it came to Philadelphia sports history.  John had the uncanny ability to remember details of the most infamous Philadelphia sports events, and he could successfully debate even the most proficient Philly sports fan.

In addition to his kind nature, John had a great sense of humor.  He had a way of seeing the irony in many situations and finding the humor in life.

A proud uncle to his nephews, John held a devotion to family.  He was a quieter, more reserved person, but John brightened when reunited with his cousins and extended family.

John will be greatly missed but remembered and loved by all who had the pleasure to have been in his life and loved by him.

In addition to his father, John leaves behind his sister Alexis Park and her husband Damien of Doylestown, and his two nephews Daniel and James.

John’s family will receive friends on Thursday, September 29, 2022, from 11:00am until his Memorial Service at 12:00 in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.  His interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Independence Lodge, 2915 Century Lane, Bensalem, PA  19020.
