Debbie Kay LoRusso (Stowell)
Debbie Kay (Stowell) LoRusso died Sunday, September 18, 2022 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Quakertown, PA surrounded by her children. She was 55 years old.
Born in Nuremberg, Germany, Debbie Kay was the beloved daughter of Taylor Decker and the late Linda Kay (Schoen) Stowell. She is pre-deceased by her son John LoRusso, who passed in February 2022.
Debbie Kay graduated from South Hunterdon Regional High School in 1985. She graduated from The Thompson Institute Medical Assistants Program in 1988. Debbie Kay filled many roles professionally including, but not limited to, receptionist, hair stylist’s assistant, pharmacy technician, deli clerk, retail merchandiser, and personal caretaker. She was a dedicated worker with a desire to continuously grow and advance in her professional roles. Debbie Kay was strong in her faith and consistently attended Main Street Baptist Church in Doylestown, PA for many years. She then went on to join a local bible study with her best friend Laura Godshall where they formed solid friendships with many.
Debbie Kay was so loved and even though she was oftentimes misunderstood, it was clear that she had the biggest heart and would do anything for those she cared about. She was a devoted mother who spent years of her life at home with her children. This tireless devotion continued well into her children’s adult years. Anybody who knew Debbie Kay was aware of her tendency to call frequently, and often at the worst times. There would be no doubt that the reason she was calling was to simply check in on you because you were on her mind.
Debbie Kay was incredibly strong-willed, and this was evident in her triumph over her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015. When the cancer treatments started taking effect, she asked a close family member to shave her head and modeled her new look proudly. Recently, the breast cancer returned and showed signs of rapid systemic spread which was the unfortunate cause of her sudden death. She fought hard to the end and even with understanding the gravity of her situation, she maintained a sense of humor and found peace in the fact that she would soon be joining those she missed dearly in heaven.
In addition to her father (Taylor), Debbie Kay will be missed tremendously by her stepmother, Rita Stowell; son, Matthew (wife, Angelia) LoRusso; daughter, Hannah LoRusso (husband, Jerry Novak Jr.); son, Luke LoRusso; grandson, Matthew Jeremiah LoRusso Jr.; brother, John (wife, Amber) Malloy IV; brother, David (wife, Susan) Stowell; and sister, Renee (husband, Raymond) Tutt.
Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Debbie Kay’s life on Friday, September 23, 2022 from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Time will be given towards the end to openly share your favorite memories of her.
