Ryan E. Becerril

Ryan Becerril, of North Wales, PA died on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at Temple University after a lifelong battle of lung issues. He was 26.

Ryan may have been born March 11, 1996 in South Korea, however he became the son of Ernest and Kathleen Esposito Becerril of North Wales on August 29, 1996.

Ryan was a very special and unique young man. He was born with many preexisting health issues that would have been a setback for many people, but not Ryan. He grew up in Haddonfield, NJ, he loved watching WWE Wrestling, and his favorite wrestler was CM Punk, all the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Phillies and knew all of the players their stats and his favorite player was Roy Halladay. He also watched a variety of mainstream shows from “New Girl” to Korean History movies. He had a diverse taste in music and enjoyed going to concerts, and his all-time favorite song was “Eye of the Tiger”.

Pets were always a part of Ryan’s life. He loved his dog, “Paco” and his turtles especially “Donashello”.  During the summers, he enjoyed going to Ocean City and Atlantic City spending time on the beach and on the boardwalks. As a thrill seeker, there was no ride too scary and he especially loved the time he had a ride on the Slingshot.

For two years, Ryan attended the University of Tampa where he studied Psychology before needing to return to Pennsylvania as his lungs were failing him. Then on July 8, 2017 after many unfortunate missed opportunities for a lung transplant, Ryan was “re born”. He received his new lungs and after two months in the hospital, he was finally released to go home. The transplant was essentially a success, however, Ryan still faced many challenges that unfortunately he could not overcome.

Ryan had a passion for helping other people. He loved working with children, especially children with neurodiverse challenges like autism and ADHD. His love of life and dedication to his family and friends will long be an inspiration to those who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Ryan is also survived by his sister Meghan Becerril of Hatfield his maternal grandparents Vincent and Dorothy Esposito of Dublin, PA and numerous cousins and friends. His paternal grandparents Adolfo and Manuela Becerril predeceased him in death.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, September 30, 2022 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am at St. Helena Church, 1489 Dekalb Pike, Blue Bell, PA 19422. His interment will be held privately.
