Vincenzo Armetta

Vincenzo Armetta of Newtown passed away surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at his home. He had just celebrated his 90th birthday. Vincenzo was the loving husband of Grazia Picone Armetta for 63 years.

Born in Carini, Italy, Vincenzo was the son of the late Giacomo and Vincenza Alamia Armetta.  Vincenzo came to America in 1964 in search of providing a better life for his family.  In America, he was able to live an amazing life that included several successful businesses, but most importantly, raising a family of five married children that grew to include 18 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and still growing.  He enjoyed playing card games with friends and family, especially a good game of Pokerone.  Every day included a bowl of fresh pasta with his homemade sauce.

In addition to his wife Grazia, Vincenzo is survived by his children: James Armetta and his wife Christine of Richboro, Phyllis Balsamo and her husband Giovanni of New Hope, Josephine Taormina and her husband Gaetano of Warwick, Rosemarie Amato and her husband Pino of Richboro and Francine Adragna and her husband Antonio of Newtown, his  grandchildren: Vincent Armetta, Nicholas Armetta, Jacqueline Armetta, Dominic Balsamo, Cristina Balsamo Mondello, Vincent Balsamo, Marco Balsamo, Alex Balsamo, Grace Ann Taormina Tinney, Jessica Taormina McLellan, Joseph Taormina, Christian Taormina, Angela Amato Novak, Briana Amato, Joseph Amato, Julia Adragna, Alexandra Adragna and Giana Adragna, and great-grandchildren: Giovanni, Dante, Sisi, Savi, Julian, Capri, Nicholas, Sofia,Liam, Luca, Leila, Leo, Fina, Penelope, Nico, Massimo, Mila, and his sister, Rosaria Armetta.  Vincenzo was predeceased by siblings, Gaetana, Antonio, Rosalia, Giovanna, and Salvatore.

Vincenzo’s family will receive family and friends on Tuesday October 4th, 2022 from 10:00 AM until his Funeral Mass at 11:30 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA 18940. Interment will take place immediately following at All Saints Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Chandler Hall Memory Care, 99 Barclay St., Newtown, PA  18940.
