Barbara Ann Ruehling (Koppi)

Barbara Ann Koppi Ruehling formerly of Ivyland went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Chandler Hall Health Services in Newtown, PA. She was 85.

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio she was the daughter of the late Nicholas J. Koppi and Margaret Barth Koppi.

Barbara Ann was the beloved wife of the late Fred W. Ruehling for 59 years, and the loving mother of Stacie Ruehling of Philadelphia, Marie Kovach (Mark) of Doylestown, and the late Barbara Ann Curtin (William) of Warminster. She has 4 grandchildren, William, Chelsea, Christopher and Matthew and her great grand-daughter, Arabella. Sister of Maggie Koppi Calvanese, and sister in-law of Margie Seklecki (Ed), and the late Cathy DeLuca (Jeff). She will also be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.

Barbara Ann was a resident of Feasterville, Holland and Ivyland, PA and had spent many a summer at her home in Stone Harbor, NJ. She moved to Philadelphia in 1945 and attended Resurrection Grammar School and Nazareth Academy High School, graduating Class of 1955.

She attended classes at Villanova University while teaching at St. Michael the Archangel in Levittown, PA. She loved teaching and her students. She played and enjoyed tennis and bowling. She taught CCD at Assumption School in Feasterville and was a Brownie Troop and Girl Scout Leader, and she campaigned with her girls for the annual marching band hoagie and candy sales at Neshaminy High School. She loved to sew, embroider, and crochet and made beautiful ponchos for her girls and her nieces. Barbara Ann worked at Feeney’s in Feasterville, where she took pleasure in collecting all things Christmas décor. She enjoyed hosting the annual neighborhood Christmas Party, later vacationing to Rome, Puerto Rico and going on a cruise with her husband. She loved being outdoors and spending quality time with her family and friends at the swim club. Barbara Ann will be deeply missed by her family and by all who came to know her.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Thursday, November 3, 2022 from 10:00 AM until her funeral Mass 11:00 AM in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA 18966. Her interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
