Mary "MC" Catherine Michaels (Cannon)

Mary Catherine Cannon Michaels, of Lansdale, PA died on Saturday, October 29, 2022, at Paoli Hospital. She was 38.

Born in Chestnut Hill, PA, she was a daughter of Francis J. and Mary Alice Brinson Cannon of Lansdale.

MC grew up in Lansdale and was a 2002 graduate of Christopher Dock High School. She then continued on to the University of Connecticut where she was a member of the Ski Team. MC was a tremendous athlete and excelled in long distance running. She was an International Marathon Runner and competed all over the world, totaling over 200 races. A highlight of her running career was earning The Abbott World Challenge, running in 6 “Majors” in only 18 months all over the world. After completing this challenge, she became the first woman from Alabama to earn this honor.

When she was not running, MC worked as a Veterinary Technician. She was passionate about taking care of animals and the love and dedication she had with her work was contagious. For over 20 years, she worked in Alabama and most recently in Ohio, focusing on their well-being.

In addition to her loving parents, MC is survived by her sister Elizabeth Alice Cannon and her husband Griffin Butt of Glenside, PA and her two nephews, Owen Pearce and Rory Thomas.  She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Saturday, November 19, 2022 from 9:00am until words of remembrance at 10:45am at St. Jude Church, 321 West Butler Ave. Chalfont, PA 18914 and her Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am. Her interment will be held privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to either Home at Last Dog Rescue or Stray Network Animal Rescue.
