Susan M Butcavage (Magee)

Susan (Florence Magee, Parks, Marquiss) Butcavage, 77, passed away peacefully of natural causes in her Bucks County home during the late evening hours of October 29, 2022.  She was with her beloved husband of 17 years, Robert “Bob” Butcavage.

Born in Philadelphia, Susan was the youngest daughter of Elwood and Jean (Forbes) Magee and a longtime resident of Holland, PA.  She grew up in northeast Philadelphia and graduated from Northeast High School in 1963.  Entering the working world, Susan worked for Bell Telephone in downtown Philadelphia before accepting a position with Betz Laboratories in the suburbs.

After being widowed, Susan reunited and married her childhood sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Butcavage.  Together, they enjoyed spending their days watching their children flourish and their grandchildren grow.  Susan loved promoting and preserving happy family moments, which was evident in the many timeless photographs she captured on film.  Susan was ever the animal lover and had many dogs, cats, and birds over the course of her lifetime.  In her golden years, Susan spent her time conversing with friends and neighbors, visiting with family, reading, sewing baby blankets for newborns, and crafting with her grandchildren.

Susan was an active member of her community and loved the many volunteer positions she held.  Most notably, Susan was honored to serve as a board member of C W Schrenk and Marjorie J Schrenk Family Foundation, as a volunteer at the American Red Cross Homeless Shelter, as a Cub Scout Leader, as a band parent for Council Rock (North), and as a member of 100+ Women Who Care organization.

Susan is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Butcavage; her sister, Ruth Hauler; her children, Richard “Rick” Marquiss (Jessica), Bonnie Jean Martin (Robert), Ryan Marquiss (Catherine) James R Marquiss III (Jennifer), and Stephen Marquiss;  And her stepchildren, Jaime Garman (Rick) and Laura Porreca (Art) .  She loved and was adored by her grandchildren Finnegan, Jameson, and Killian Marquiss; Jalyn, Miranda, Samaria, and Robert “Bobby” Martin; James “Jimmy” and Annabelle “Annie” Marquiss; Grant and William “Will” Garman; Laurie Wolff (Jaclynne) and Erica Wolff; and Wylde, Dakota, Dillon Marquiss (Megan), and Skye (Marquiss) Marin (Will). She was preceded in death by her parents Elwood and Jean Magee; her previous spouse James R. Marquiss, Jr; and her sister, Marjorie J Schrenk.

Family and Friends are invited to greet the family on Monday, November 7, 2022, from 10:00 until her Funeral Service at 12:00 PM at St. John's United Methodist Church, 820 Almshouse Road, Ivyland, PA 18974.  Interment will be private at Washington Crossing National Cemetery. Newtown, PA.
