Thomas W Reardon

Thomas W. Reardon of Holland, passed away at home, surrounded by his loving family, on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was 88 years old.  He was the beloved husband of Catherine “Cass” Somers Reardon for 69 years.

Tom was born in Philadelphia on his cherished Elfreth’s Alley, a National Historic Landmark, and was the son to the late George and Mary Morris Reardon.

Tom was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and Drexel University where he earned his degree in electrical engineering.  Tom proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.  After his retirement from his long career in engineering, Tom found his true calling in teaching at St. Michaels of Philadelphia, Grey Nun Academy of Yardley, and Villa Joseph Marie High School (VJM) of Holland, where he taught Physics.  Tom was inducted into VJM’s 2021 Wall of Fame. 

Tom enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Tom was a true sports enthusiast from coaching CYO basketball and softball to being a visible fan on the sidelines and bleachers for his children and grandchildren. Tom was a member of the St. Bede the Venerable, Knights of Columbus Council, the Fourth Degree, Archbishop Wood Assembly.

Along with his wife Cass, Tom is survived by his children, Catherine M. Flynn and her husband Stephen of North Wales, Patricia A. Reardon and her partner Kevin Keane of Houston, Texas, Christine R. Kardish and her husband Thomas of Doylestown and Eileen M. Guers and her husband Kevin of Langhorne; and grandchildren; Kris Flynn, Becky Hensel and her husband Eric, Ava Tijerino-Schmitz and her husband Eduardo, Gregory Guers, McKenna Kardish-Goodwin and her husband Matt, Christian Kardish and his fiancée Olivia Sargent, Timothy Guers, Julianna Kardish and Caroline Kardish; and great-grandchildren, Jackson and Emma Hensel; many nieces, nephews, cousins and his best buddy, Uncle Jack Hipp. Tom was predeceased by his brothers, George, William, Martin and Robert.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the entire staff at Chandler Hall, Newtown, PA for the love and care shown to Tom. 

Visitation will be at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland, PA on Monday, November 28, 2022 from 10:00 am until his funeral mass at 11:00am.  Interment will take place immediately following the service at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Roman Catholic High School, 301 N Broad St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 or St. Bede the Venerable Church.
