Thomas J. Hurley

Thomas J. Hurley of Holland, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, November 19, 2022. He was 74. He was the beloved husband of Rosemary Breslin Hurley for 32 years. Tom courageously battled prostate cancer for three and a half years with complications of an aggressive brain tumor. He was always positive and grateful for life’s blessings. Truly an inspiration and life lesson for all of us.

Tom was born in Albany, NY, and was the son to the late James Joseph and Rita Jesse Hurley. Moved to Philadelphia in 1962. Graduated from George Washington High School and earned an Electronics Degree from the Technical Institute of Philadelphia. He served in the US Army for three years in special communications/crypto during the Vietnam War. Tom then graduated from Nathaniel Hawthorne College in New Hampshire with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He worked as an electronics technician for Amtrak for eighteen years. Then Tom earned a Real Estate license from Penn State University and became certified as a golf teaching professional through the American Golf Association.

He touched many lives with his larger than life, personality, sense of humor, and passion for life. Tom was a dedicated family member, which is a tribute to his character. He lived his life to the fullest, and his cherished memories will never be forgotten.

He was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and loved all things Philadelphia Sports- Eagles, Phillies, Flyers, Sixers. He loved golf, skiing, tennis and travel. He loved our condo in Ventnor where we biked, swam, walked and enjoyed sunsets.

Along with his wife Rose, Tom is survived by his brother, James Hurley of Newtown; sister-in-law, Nancy Webster and her husband Charles; brother-in-law, Frank Breslin, Jr. and his wife Susan; nieces and nephews; Ryan Webster, Kyle and Courtney Webster, Thomas Breslin and his fiancée Megan, Michael Breslin (Amy)  Bryan Breslin (Martha) and Kevin Breslin; great-niece, Lily Webster.
