Dennis J. DeCarlo

Dennis John DeCarlo, of Warminster, PA, died in the arms of his loving wife, Debra Dixon DeCarlo, on November 19, 2022 at the age of 73.

Denny and Debbie were married for 49 years.

Born in Abington, PA, Denny was the son of the late Thomas and Mary Murphy
DeCarlo.

Denny was a Veteran of the United States Army, where he served in Vietnam in the 101st Airborne Division at the age of 19 and, among other commendations, was awarded a Bronze Star, along with the Air Medal, awarded for single acts of heroism or meritorious achievements while participating in aerial flight.  He was a master carpenter and expert machinist, known to build or fix just about anything.

From a young age, Denny loved to hunt and fish. He was also a gifted gardener, who in his later years lovingly tended his koi and goldfish in his backyard pond.

Denny had a great curiosity for many hobbies, including woodworking and cooking. His specialty was pizza and more than a few memories were made standing around the kitchen eating pizza and talking about current events.  He loved discussing them with neighbors, friends, and family.

Denny was an artisan who enjoyed making things for people when the idea struck, such as cutting boards and shadowboxes. He loved spending time in Ocean City, NJ, where he could often be found dropping a fishing pole over the side of the pier.  He also enjoyed watching Penn State Football and movies of all kinds, always sharing movie names and receiving recommendations from others.

Denny was always joking with and spoiling his grandchildren with a devilish grin and a gleam in his eye. He was never stingy with trips to Wawa, whipped cream, tastykakes and other treats. All who knew and loved him will truly miss him.

Along with his wife, Debbie, Denny is survived by three children, Shawn DeCarlo (Jennifer) of Portland, OR, Kevin DeCarlo (Kristi) of Newtown, PA and Nicholas DeCarlo (Kiel) of Doylestown, PA; four grandchildren, “Poppy’s boys” Jonah, Logan, Carter and Oliver. Also survived by his brothers Tom, Michael and Glenn DeCarlo, as well as a cherished extended family.

Denny’s family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. until his funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954, with his interment to take place immediately following the service at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
