Carl J. Sposato Jr.

Beloved husband, son, father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother,

and good friend.

Carl Joseph Sposato Jr. 75 of Yardley, PA passed away peacefully with his family by his side on January 3, 2023, from complications due to cancer.  He was the beloved husband of Susan L Sposato.  He was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Sposato, his mother, Frances Sposato, and his sister, D’Ann Sposato.

Carl was born in Westerly, Rhode Island on February 24, 1947, where he spent his childhood years. He graduated from Westerly High School in 1965.  Upon graduation, he attended and graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1969.  This is where he met and married Susan, his wife of 53 years.

After graduation, Carl volunteered to serve his beloved country and joined the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.  After graduating from Officer Candidate School in Quantico, VA, Carl, Susan, and their baby girl, Hiver, relocated multiple times with the Marines and lived throughout the United States enjoying its beauty and making many lifelong friends. After serving his country, the Sposato family settled in West Caldwell, NJ where Carl and Susan made their home for 41 years.  Carl worked for Revlon Cosmetics for 10 years and then for Safilo, USA until his retirement.

Upon retirement, Carl and Susan moved to Yardley, PA to be closer to their daughter, son-in-law, and their grandchildren.  Carl (Papa) cherished the ability to be a part of his grandchildren's lives and activities.  He was a proud Papa and was able to witness and enjoy their many achievements as they grew into young adults.

Although Carl always resided outside of Rhode Island after graduating high school, he routinely returned to his cherished hometown of Westerly.  Here he helped care for his widowed mother and enjoyed the company of family and lifelong friends.

As a younger man, Carl was an avid runner, swimmer, and skier.  He and his wife enjoyed domestic and international travel touring most of the United States and numerous countries abroad. Carl was an active and involved member of many charitable organizations throughout his life.  Once moving to Yardley, Carl was well-known for his kindness throughout the community.  He enjoyed good laughs, good stories, and spending time with his closest friends at the neighborhood pool and clubhouse.  Even when his health took a turn, nothing would stop him from enjoying the company of his friends.

Carl was a man of the highest integrity and lived his life by always doing the right thing.  He was hard-working and loyal.  Carl was most proud of his family and loved and supported them unconditionally.  He raised an amazing daughter with two beautiful grandchildren and his legacy lives on through them and their successes.

Along with his wife Susan, Carl is survived by his daughter, Hiver, and her husband, Brent of West Chester, PA, and two loving grandchildren, Hadley and Grant, numerous cousins, and the many, many friends he has made throughout his life.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. (at Holland Rd.), Richboro.
