Barbara M. Campbell (Wenstrup)
Barbara M. Campbell of Warrington, PA died peacefully, surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 6, 2023, at Doylestown Hospital. Barbara was 97. She was the beloved wife of the late Edward Campbell who served our country as a paratrooper in the European Theater in World War II and the devoted daughter of the late Leo and Agnes Olbert Wenstrup.
Born in Fort Thomas, Kentucky on May 25th 1925, the family moved to Philadelphia during the early years of the Great Depression. May 25th is also the birthday of her mother. Barbara was a standout student, first at Little Flower Catholic High School For Girls, then at St Hubert Catholic High School, becoming the school’s second senior class president. She was also valedictorian of her graduating class. Immediately after high school Barbara worked at Yale and Towne and then for many years in real estate conveyance.
Barbara lived a pious life of love and devotion to her God and her family and was beloved by all who knew her. Her prayers for those who needed them are legendary and have brought comfort and smiles to countless people whether she knew them personally or not. Known as Mom-Mom to her many wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren, she was guide, protector, and advocate, reflecting back to all their most positive attributes. A deeply religious person, loving and affectionate, wise and funny, she will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her children Debbie L. Eustice (late Don) , Edward M. Campbell (Corinne) , Mark L. Campbell (Laura), Donna L. Gardiner (Harlan), and Barbara L. Haagen-Vassallo (Fred), as well as her beloved grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Melissa, Matthew, Heather, Chelsey, Nicholas, Emily, Christopher, Ryan and Ben and great-grandchildren Sean, Meghan, Maura, Kassidy, Emerson, Evan, Camden, Mackenzie, Molly, Matthew, Bridget, Timothy, Rose, Michael Jon, Isabella, Liam, Aiden, and Mason, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces, and grand nephews.
She was predeceased by her siblings Leo Wenstrup (Marge), James Wenstrup (Helen) and Louise Wenstrup. She is survived by her brother Jan Wenstrup (Katherine), her sisters, Joan Muller (late George), Agnes Wenstrup and Ann Casey (late Jack).
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing on Monday, January 9, 2023, from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 East Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.) New Britain, PA 18901. A viewing and funeral mass in celebration of her life, will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1795 Columbia Avenue Warrington, PA 18976. The viewing will begin at 10:00am and her Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00am. Her interment will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham, PA.
