Jillian N. Brown-Kelly

Jillian N. Brown-Kelly, of Newtown, PA passed away surrounded by her loving family and dog on Sunday, January 15, 2023. She was the beloved wife of Michael Kelly.  Born on April 30, 1982 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter to Gary and Denise (Moore) Brown.

From a very young age, Jillian had a love for life and passion for all animals, but especially dogs and horses. She started her accomplished equestrian career at the age of 7 in Simsbury, CT, rode for years with Breakaway Farm while growing up in Ridgefield, CT, and went on to become the Captain of the Fairfield University Equestrian team while in college, taking them to the U.S. Nationals twice. She was a 2000 graduate of Ridgefield High and a 2004 graduate of Fairfield University.   She graduated with her MA in Education from Fairfield University and then made the life changing decision to move to Philadelphia with friends in search of a fresh start and a new life, and she did just that.  She created a life for herself that she was proud of.

At her most recent job, she earned the respect of her colleagues working her way from a kindergarten teacher to administrator at Foundation Academy in Trenton, NJ. Despite being thought of as shy as a child, Jillian was a natural leader and easily gained the respect of those around her due to her hard work ethic, positive attitude, competitive nature, and empathetic outlook. Jillian always prided herself on being a loyal and compassionate friend and was adored by so many.  She loved the Philadelphia Eagles, trips to Ocean City, NJ with her ‘Family of Families’, and vacations to Disney World (her favorite trip being last April with all 13 members of her immediate family). But most of all, Jill was incredibly grateful for meeting, falling in love, and marrying Mike in the last 5 years of her life and said that he was the "best thing to ever happen to me" in her final hours.

In addition to her husband and parents, Jillian is survived by her loving sisters, Kimberly Murray and husband Rob (Shannon and Susie) of Ridgefield, CT and Katie Durling and husband Brian (Lillian, Eleanor, & James) of Newtown, CT as well as her beloved comfort dog and 16 year companion chihuahua, Jack. Jillian was predeceased by her rescued pit bull, Clifford.

Jillian’s family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 800 Newtown-Richboro Rd. Richboro, PA 18954 from 10:30am until her Funeral Service at 12:00pm. Interment will take place privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Leiomyosarcoma Support and Direct Research Foundation, P.O. Box 52697, Tulsa, OK 74152, through their website at www.lmsdr.org or email at [email protected].
