Helene M. Clausz (Goodwin)
Helene Mary Goodwin Clausz, of New Hope, PA died on Monday, January 16, 2023, at Pine Run Health Center. She was 80.
She was the beloved wife of 58 years to Harry Warren Clausz.
Born February 27, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of late Thomas and Rose Agnes (McGinn) Goodwin and sister and sister-in-law of the late Thomas and Virginia Goodwin.
Helene taught at St. Christopher’s school for over 25 years. She was meticulous in her lesson planning and took great pride in her students. She was an avid reader, enjoyed playing Sudoku and online Mahjong games, and watched Jeopardy on television, daily. Besides being astute, Helene had a green thumb and tenderly cared for her house plants. She embraced her Irish heritage each cleaning day as she listened to the tunes of Celtic Thunder to keep her uplifted until all finished! She loved Harry’s and her cat, Cleo. In addition to these activities, Helene enjoyed vacationing with her young family and then later in life with her husband, Harry, daughter and daughter-in law, Michele and Bette. Mostly, Helene loved being with her family more than anything and her two grandchildren, Heather and Connor, were her absolute joys.
Helene was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease 30 years ago and more recently with kidney disease. Her children always remarked that she was the strongest person they knew. A role model beyond none.
In addition to her loving husband, she is survived by her children Kevin Clausz and his wife Michelle of Perkasie, PA, Michele Clausz and her spouse Bette of Jenkintown, PA, Tim Clausz and his wife Jaime of Eagleville, PA. She is also survived by her grandchildren Heather and Connor.
Her services and interment in Washington Crossing National Cemetery will be held privately.
