John E. “Jack” Swiggard, 86, of Mechanicsville, passed away February 23, 2023.
He was the beloved husband of Irene T. Oleksyn Swiggard for 63 years.
Born May 6, 1936, in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late James and Marie Esmond Swiggard.
Jack was a resident of Mechanicsville and Philadelphia and spent much of his time on Fairview Lake, Tafton PA. He was a graduate of Northeast Catholic and attended Temple University. He was a business owner of Manzo Associates for over 50 years, “Godfather of Fasteners” until retirement. Jack was a little league coach, cub scout leader and very involved with Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Lady of Guadalupe parishes. Jack enjoyed traveling, hunting, golfing, sailing, fishing and loved spending time with his family. Jack will be deeply missed by his family.
Along with his wife, Irene, Jack is survived by four children, John J. Swiggard, Mary Ellen Driscoll, Christopher Swiggard and his wife Meg, and Loretta Muntzer and husband Fred; five grandchildren, Shauna Marie, Kellie Marie, Christopher, Danny, and Freddy; and two great-grandchildren, Andraya and Ryder.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jimmy Swiggard and Kathleen Millar.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Wednesday, March 1, 2023, from 10:00 am until his funeral mass at 11:00 am at St. Mary’s Manor Chapel, 701 Lansdale Avenue, Lansdale. Interment will be held privately.
Contributions in Jack’s name may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 3551 N. Broad St. Philadelphia, PA 19140.
