Frances J. McVaugh (Arentzen)

Frances J. McVaugh, 94, of Chalfont, passed away March 1, 2023. She was the beloved wife of the late Francis Bernard, who passed in 1983, and Stanley McVaugh, who passed in 2015. Born February 8, 1929 in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Frederick and Frances (Stoll) Arentzen.

When it came to enjoying the simple things in life, Frances knew how to make every day count. She wholeheartedly loved her faith, family, and friends.  Her positive attitude brought positive energy wherever she went. Never one to miss out on a good time, Frances watched her Eagles and Phillies cheering and clapping like she was there in the stands.  Even going to the hair and nail salon was a joyful day for her. But what Frances treasured most in her life was the blessing of being surrounded by the family and friends she dearly loved and who also loved her dearly.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn Edwards of Chalfont and Peggie Mandia (Gary) of Langhorne; four grandchildren, Michael, Francis, Fara, and Brandon; nine great-grandchildren, Colin, Devin, Aiden, Brennan, Kendall, Reese, Regan, Kross, and Brooks; a great-great-grandchild, Harper; and a half-sister, Vicki Arentzen Balling. Frances was preceded in death by her sister, Claire Hess; a half-brother, Duane Arentzenand son-in-law, Al Edwards.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Monday, March 20, 2023 from 9:30 am until the funeral mass at 10:30 am at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.
