Vincent M. Donovan
Vincent Matthew Donovan, formerly of Blue Bell Pennsylvania, died on March 5, 2023, after a long battle with heart failure. He was surrounded by love from his family, the loving staff and personnel of Pine Run Lakeview Community, and Caring Hospice.
Vincent was born in New York City, New York, on June 10 1934 to John Donovan and Evelyn O'Reilly. After graduating from high school, Vincent enlisted in the Navy to serve in the Korean War. After serving, he obtained an electronics certification from IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers), which began his long career with Unisys, formerly known as Univac. Vincent traveled all around the country and saw the world with Univac. In 1987, Vince would defy all the odds by climbing the corporate ladder, without a college degree, and become part of the Executive Board as the President of Customer Service. After his retirement from Unisys, Vince was asked to serve as a Chairperson for the Board of Directors for Timeplex Federal Systems headquartered in Fairfax, VA. He continued this employment from 1991 until his permanent retirement in 2000.
Vincent fell in love and married the love of his life, Eileen Theresa Doherty, of New York, NY, on May 26, 1956. If you talked to Vince, you would always hear him say, "We grew up in the same neighborhood in the Bronx... I fell in love with her the minute I saw her, but I couldn't ask her to marry me until she was of age." They went on to spend 51 years together until Eileen's death in 2007.
Vince and Eileen had five children together, Donna Keech of Lansdale, PA, husband Blake Keech; Bob Donovan of Chantilly, VA; Rosemarie Toub of Perkasie, PA, married to Mark Toub; Regina Twigg of Glenelg, MD, married to Bob Twigg; and Tim Donovan of Collegeville, PA, married to Michelle Donovan. In addition to 5 children Vince was surrounded by grandchildren, Nicole, Matthew, Lindsay, Ryan, Casey, Cory, Kelley, Patrick, Michael, Mark, Frank, Russell, Rebecca, Sean, Austin, Katie, Erin, Kylae, Connor, Regan and great- grandchildren William, Rylan, Liam, Jack, James, Jordan, Declan, Braeden, Raelyn, Charley and the late Matthew Twigg.
Vincent is also survived by his two living sisters, Evelyn Lynch and Geraldine Herrity, and his deceased brothers William “Bill” and John “Bernie” Donovan.
A special thank you to the entire staff and personnel at Pine Run Lakeview for the loving and enduring care over the past several months.
His Funeral Mass and interment in St. John Neumann Cemetery was held privately.
