Richard Kwei

Richard Kwei of Yardley, died on March 4, 2023, at Jefferson Torresdale Hospital after battling cancer. He was 62, and worked as a Senior Vice President of Thomas Jefferson Health System. Previous positions included Senior Director at Boston Medical Center and Chief Operating Officer for Geisinger Medical Center. Richard was born in Newark, NJ and lived in Massachusetts and Pennsylvania. He was the beloved husband of Gayle Chase, and devoted father of James Kwei (Laura) and Gordon Kwei. He was the brother of Joseph Kwei (Chris) and Carol Kwei-Levy (Sandy). Richard was the son of Kwei Ping Shen and the late Ti Kang Kwei. Most recently, he became the proud grandfather of Payton Kwei.

Richard was very active all his life and enjoyed activities such as skiing, tennis, golf, cooking, and taking vacations in the Caribbean. He enjoyed listening to music and studied cello for many years. In terms of creating his own collections, Richard focused on wines, telescopes, and attempting to grow plants. Always loving to experience new things, he learned how to repair flutes and brass instruments, make artisan breads, and create custom speakers. Richard had many golden retrievers over the years, finding them to be wonderful family additions. He always enjoyed seeing friends and relatives and was a great host, making sure everyone was having a good time.

Richard’s family will receive condolences from relatives, friends and colleagues on Sunday, April 16, 2023 from 2-5pm at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, Richboro, PA. His Services and Interment will be held at a later date in Orange, MA. Contributions in his memory may be made to Jefferson Oncology.
