

Clara M. Harkins
Clara M. Harkins of Ann’s Choice in Warminster and formerly a longtime resident of Holland, PA died peacefully at Brookdale of Dublin on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. She was 90. Born in Philadelphia, Clara was the beloved daughter of the late Daniel J. and Clara Lassner Harkins and the sister of the late Daniel J. Harkins.
Clara was a longtime resident of Holland and a devoted, founding parishioner and active member of St.
Bede the Venerable Church. Clara was a faithful, devout Catholic who showed unwavering trust in God and a deep devotion to The Blessed Mother.
Clara experienced a wonderful childhood on the farm in Holland caring for her numerous animals. She graduated from Council Rock High School in 1951 and enjoyed attending the yearly class reunions. Clara worked for Bell Telephone Company as a switchboard operator and retired after 30 years of service.
Clara’s most treasured time of her life was spending time with her mother who was her best friend. They traveled domestically and abroad through the years. After the loss of her mother, Clara continued to travel and spent time with her family and friends.
Clara was a true animal lover caring for her beloved cats and dogs throughout her life. She donated to local rescues yearly on behalf of animal welfare. When she decided to contribute a stained glass window to St Bede’s Church, Clara made certain the stained glass window included animals in the depiction.
Clara is survived by her niece Maryanne Harkins Sullivan and her husband Kevin, nephews Daniel Harkins and his wife Christine and Michael Harkins and his wife Diane. She is also survived by her great nieces
Megan and Natalie, great nephews Michael and Daniel, great-great nephew Daniel and great-great niece
Claire. Remember Clara’s soft voice, humor, strength and love.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Monday, March 20, 2023 from 10:00 AM until her Funeral Mass 11:00AM in St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road Holland, PA 18966. Her interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery in Langhorne.
