Susan T. Wilton (Traub)
Susan Traub Wilton passed away on March 19, 2023, in Abington, PA, after a third battle with cancer.
She was born on August 16, 1946, to Edwin H. Traub, Sr. and Helen Hooley Traub, and was raised in Richboro, PA.
Sue attended Council Rock High School. Shortly after graduating in 1964, she went to work for Honeywell, where her father was an electrician and maintenance supervisor; it was there that she met her husband of 49 years, Vincent Wilton. Sue left Honeywell in 1975 to raise her two daughters, Kristine and Karen, in Willow Grove, PA, helping to support the family with various jobs throughout their childhood. She retired in 2005 after 15 years with State Farm Insurance in Willow Grove. After retiring, she worked part-time alongside Karen at the Upper Moreland Free Public Library.
When Kris and Karen were growing up, she volunteered at their school library and with their marching band, where she formed strong bonds with fellow parents and with students, who often sought her out for her open, nonjudgmental ear.
Quick-witted, with a dry and irreverent sense of humor, Sue was beloved by family and friends, but appreciated solitude, enjoying activities like reading and puzzles. She loved music, dancing, and going to the beach, especially Long Beach Island, NJ, where she spent time as a teenager and later as a parent with her family.
Sue is survived by her husband, Vincent Wilton; daughters Kristine (Justin Baker) of Cambridge, MA, and Karen of Willow Grove, PA; grandson Jonah Baker; sister Myra Miller of Kennett Square, PA; brother Edwin H. Traub (Barbara) of Doylestown, PA; and nieces Kimberlee Traub of Philadelphia, PA, Kathrin Traub of Doylestown, PA, and Kathleen Brennan (Will O’Connor) of Philadelphia, PA. She was preceded in death by her brother Joseph Traub in February.
