Debra M. Hoey (Hirsch)

Debra M. Hirsch Hoey, of Lansdale, PA., died unexpectedly on Thursday, March 16, 2023, in her home at 64 years old. She was the beloved wife of the late Allen Hoey. Born in Atlantic City, NJ. to the late Leonard and Beatrice Ossick Hirsch, sister of David Hirsch, and the twin sister of the late Michelle Mergaman.

Debi grew up with her family in Dresher, PA. She moved to Bensalem after marrying then husband, Rick, where they raised their two daughters.

She enjoyed decorating and creating a home for their family, playing the piano and spending time in the local bookstores. Debi loved nature and the beach. She was a talented artist and was accomplished in knitting and crocheting. She had a passion for learning and took pride in finishing her degree at Temple University at the top of her class. In 2006, she married professor and good friend, Allen Hoey. She enjoyed their new life together living in New Hope surrounded by their family, friends, dogs, grilling, wine and craft beers by the bonfire, and reading poetry from her husband’s books.

Debi will always be described as eccentric, friendly, interesting, smart, beautiful and funny. She loved to laugh and created an endless amount of memories with her daughters that will live in their hearts forever and help bring a smile when there are too many tears. At a time of loss, the greatest gift given is the memory of laughs and love shared with Debi…

Debi is survived by her two daughters, Lauren Brandle, her husband Bill, of Doylestown, and Jessica Cowan of Lambertville, NJ. She is survived by her brother David Hirsch, and his wife Denise, of Lambertville, NJ. She is also survived by her four grandchildren, Tristan, Reese, Mason and Poppy.

Her services and interment will be held privately.
