Maria Bross (Conzelman)

Maria Kathryn Bross (Conzelman), born September 4th, 1939, went home to be with her Lord on March 22, 2023. A Philadelphia native, Maria was the daughter of the late Jacob and Kathryn Conzelman and grew up alongside her brother, Charles Conzelman, who preceded her in death.

Maria married the love of her life, Robert "Bob" Bross, on May 6th, 1962, and they celebrated their 60th anniversary together in 2022. As a beloved mother, she raised three children: Dawn Schmidt (married to Robert), Sandra Cochran, and Steven Bross (married to Jennifer). Maria's loving spirit extended to her seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who will cherish her memory forever.

Throughout her career, Maria demonstrated her love for children by working in daycare, starting at KinderCare and eventually retiring from St. Mary's Hospital. In her free time, Maria was an avid ceramics painter, creating everything from Easter baskets to jack-o-lanterns and chess sets. Her collections of German Christmas ornaments, Hummel’s, and all kinds of bears were a testament to her creativity and love for tradition.

Maria's sense of humor and no-filter approach to life left many memorable moments. She was known for her signature finger-pointing, checking to make sure her grandchildren wore shorts under their dresses, and giving her husband a swift wave when she'd had enough. Maria's unique financial system involving various envelopes hidden around the house will never be forgotten.

What made Maria truly special was her unwavering commitment to her family. Her love, support, and warm hugs were always accompanied by a snack from her purse. The stories and memories of Maria will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.

Maria's grandchildren will remember her fondly for the personalized letters she sent them on birthdays and holidays, her over-the-top holiday celebrations, and her ability to laugh off any comment with a smile and a giggle. Her necklace, adorned with the birthstones of all her grandchildren, was a symbol of her love for them.

Maria Bross was loved by everyone who knew her. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she always put others first. Her warm presence made everyone feel at home, and the holiday traditions she passed down will continue to be cherished by her family. Maria will be dearly missed, but we know she will be greeted by her loving brother Charles, her lifelong friend Arlene, and her son-in-law, Donn.

In honor of Maria's light-hearted spirit, we remember her with a smile and laughter, cherishing the love, joy, and strength she brought to our lives.

Maria’s family will receive friends on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 10:00am until her Funeral Service 11:00AM in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.) Richboro, PA 18954.  Her entombment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in Feasterville.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Benevolvent Care Fund at Ann’s Choice.
