James J. Klein

James Joseph Klein, Sr. died peacefully on May 1, 2023, at his home in Richboro. His loving wife was by his side. He was 75 years old.

Jim was the devoted husband of Joann D. Klein (née Tkacz). The couple had been married for 53 years.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, Jim was the son of the late James Henry Klein and Elizabeth Kull (née Callahan).

After graduating from Delhaas High School, Jim began a decades long career with Bell Atlantic Telephone Company, working his way up through the ranks from a lineman to a telecommunications engineer at Verizon. While climbing the corporate ladder, Jim found time to put himself through evening courses at Delaware Valley College to obtain his Bachelor’s Degree, spend time with his young family, coach little league baseball and softball, attend dance recitals and competitions, spend time with friends, go on cruises and other vacations, and, of course, golf. Jim spent hours on the golf course, eventually turning his hobby into a post-retirement job at the Pro Shop at Middletown Country Club, which offered the benefit of more golf when he was not working.

While Jim spent countless hours golfing, he found true joy in traveling the world with Joann and watching proudly as his children and grandchildren played sports, went to prom, graduated, got married, and became parents. Jim was never happier than when he was talking to his grandchildren about their day, pushing them on the swings, or reading a bedtime story to them.

In addition to his wife Joann, Jim will be missed and remembered by his children, Patti Steckroat and her husband Tom, Jim Klein and his wife Kim, Kristine Clark and her husband Matt; his grandchildren, Devon, Kaylee, Payton, Ryan, Lainey, Audrey, Nora, and Grady; and his siblings, Diane Hewitt and her husband Alan, Diane Leritz and her husband Len, JoAnn Copeland and her husband Lloyd, and Jack Klein and his wife Karen.

Relatives and friends may greet Jim’s family on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 9:00am, until the start of his Funeral Mass, 11:00 am at St. Vincent de Paul
