Joseph "Joe" August Mignatti

Joseph “Joe” August Mignatti, 82, of Holland, Pennsylvania, died on May 5, 2023.

Joe was born the middle of three boys on February 2, 1941 to Alice and Ted in Philadelphia, PA. A graduate of La Salle College High School and Villanova University, Joe was president of Bethayres Reclamation Corporation, an arm of the family business.

Joe met his wife Margi in 1964 at Tony Mart’s in Somers Point, New Jersey. They were married in 1969 and had three children, Chris, Kevin and Missy.

A long time member of Huntingdon Valley Country Club, Joe was an avid golfer and played courses around the world during his annual “Death by Golf” trips.

He loved words and story and was never without a book. Joe was most often found reading in his favorite chair with a dog snuggled up in his lap. He wrote poetry for friends and family, and his original poem “A Winter’s Morn” was published in an anthology in 2000.

In his later years, his favorite activity was attending the sporting events of his grandchildren, cheering them on in baseball, swimming, soccer, field hockey, lacrosse, horseback riding and gymnastics. Joe could brag about his grandkids for hours.

Quick with a joke and smile, Joe brought joy and fun to every room he was in. If you’ve ever tasted one of his pies or the family recipe for melanzane, count yourself lucky.

He is survived by his wife Margi, his children Chris (Tara Mignatti), Kevin(Jessie Mignatti), and Missy (Will Mundy), his brothers Ted (Sherri Mignatti) and Bob (Susan Mignatti), his six grandchildren, Matt, Tessa, Madeleine, Molly, Izzy and Maya, and the nieces and nephews he loved like his own.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate his life on Thursday May 11, 2023 at 10:30 at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown PA 18940. A Visitation will be held Wednesday May 10, 2023 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm and Thursday May 11, 2023 from 9:00 - 10:00 am at the Joseph A.
