Joseph E. Swartz

Joseph E. Swartz, 96, of Holland, passed away May 12, 2023. He was the beloved husband of Joan Swartz.

Joe’s career spanned over 50 years: He was a regional supervisor for A&P for 32 years and then had a second career as a financial advisor and branch manager at Lincoln Investment for over 20 years.  His enthusiasm for work was contagious and he mentored many others in their careers.  He was proud of his large family and thoroughly enjoyed regular family gatherings.  He spent many vacations at the shore and looked forward to fishing each summer.

Joe enjoyed the simpler things in life such as reading the newspaper, working on the lawn, and tackling a long list of house projects.  He also liked to joke and have fun with friends and family.  What stands out most to all who knew him was his never-ending commitment and dedication to his wife, Joan, the love of his life who he was married to for 73 years.

He was the dedicated father to 8 children, Joseph V. Swartz (Ann), Sharon Weidner (Barry), the late John Swartz (Dorothy Fargnoli), Monica Haeussler Forst (Thomas), Georganne Ford (Thomas), Marikay Forst (Patrick), Victoria McDonald (Wayne), and Kristen Swartz. He was the loving grandfather to 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and the younger brother of the late Ethel LaRoche.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 10:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:15 am at St. Bede the Venerable Church, 1071 Holland Road, Holland. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.

Contributions in Joseph’s name can be made to Little Sisters of the Poor, Holy Family Home, 5300 Chester Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19143. Or, online at https:/littlesistersofthepoorphiladelphia.org
