Rita B. Ciarlante (Bello)

Rita B. Ciarlante (Bello), of Newtown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was 99.5 years old.

Rita was known for her love of God and family. She was an interested listener, always there for anyone who needed a helping, loving hand, and the biggest supporter of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and gathering those she loved for memorable family holidays. Rita
loved the beach, enjoyed swimming, golfing, and travel whenever she had the opportunity. She looked forward to vacations at the Jersey shore spending time with family. Her influence has been palpable.

Rita worked avidly as a government inspector for the Navy Yard. She also supported the family business, Alton Welding Company, managing the office and bookkeeping. Rita was a devoted spouse to Albert of 51 years prior to his death. Rita was born to the late Albert Bello and Igina Tarli in 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was the devoted wife to the late Albert A. Ciarlante; sister to the late Adele F. Trifiletti; and mother of her late son, Robert Ciarlante. Rita is survived by her loving children, Dennis R. Ciarlante and wife Kathleen, and Barbara Ann Ezzo as well as by her five loving grandchildren: Gina Mehdi (Omar), Lauren Lewis (Matthew), Julianna C. Hirschman (Joseph), Danielle and Robert, and six great- grandchildren: Nathan, Joshua, Cameron, Emerson, Jackson and Logan.

We appreciate everyone who has honored Rita by expressing their love during this time. We know she is reunited with her husband, son, and all of her extended family who have welcomed her home. Family and friends are invited to visit on July 12, 2023 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA. A funeral mass will follow. Interment will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 W. Cheltenham Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19150.
