Virginia L. Beckert

Virginia “Ginny” L. Beckert of Hatboro died peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the Pathways in Warrington.  She was 76.

Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of Robert Kennedy and Margaret Hiller Dougherty, sister of the late Joseph Benz and step-daughter of the late William Benz.

Virginia was the loving wife for twenty-five years of John, who passed away in 1997.

Virginia attended Villa Joseph Marie High School before working at Fidelity Bank for several years. She was a Parish Secretary for twenty years at Holy Family Parish in Sewell, NJ, which was a job she enjoyed very much.  Virginia was a devoted Catholic and served as a Eucharistic Minister and a Religious Education Teacher.  She also had a passion for the sun & sand of the Jersey Shore, at which she spent many summers.

Virginia is survived by her daughter Aileen Parsons and her husband Brent of Ivyland and her two beloved granddaughters: Bridget and Abigail.  She is also survived by her brothers William Benz, Christopher Benz, Matthew Benz, and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Virginia’s family will receive friends on Friday, June 2, 2023 from 10:30am until her Funeral Mass 11:30 am in St. Cyril of Jerusalem Church, 1410 Almshouse Road Jamison, PA 18929.  Her interment will take place at 11:00AM on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, 240 Lower Landing Road Blackwood, NJ 08012.
