Elaine M. Trendler (Babboni)

June 1st 2023, William Trendler lost his rock and best friend and co-pilot of 43 years.  Elaine M. Trendler, nee Babboni left this life and took his heart with her.  She was 77 years old.

Elaine was born and raised in Vineland, New Jersey, the younger daughter of Rose and Waldo Babboni.  Following graduation from Vineland High School in 1963, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Rider College in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.

Elaine and William met in 1969 on the first day of school when they began their teaching journey together at Benjamin Franklin Junior High in Bristol Township, Pennsylvania.

They spent their thankfully long retirement traveling this great country in their series of motorhomes and had adventures most people can only imagine.  In 1981 they travelled to Inuvik, Northwest Territories, Canada in there little Subaru, driving from their home near Buckingham, Bucks County, Pennsylvania to 250 miles north of the Arctic Circle, a 12,000 mile round trip.  William’s adventurous wife had never before experienced tent camping. Later, they became active in the Safari International Motorhome Club, traveling most of North America and forming friendships wherever they went.  Elaine was the Editor-in-Chief for the Club’s magazine for many years, loving every minute of the hard work.  It allowed her to continue doing what every English teacher cherishes, correcting other peoples grammar.

I hear thunder from above, either that or St. Peter just mixed a tense or perhaps a metaphor.  God help us all if he used a contraction where only a full word was appropriate!

This could get ugly.

Beside Elaine’s husband and life partner, Bill Trendler, she is survived by her sister, Irene Devereaux, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Elaine and Bill’s family will receive friends on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 10:30AM until their joint memorial service at 12 Noon in the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown-Richboro Road (at Holland Rd.), Richboro, PA 18954. Their Interment will follow at 1:30pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown.
