Helen Novak (Makarski)

Helen Novak (Makarski) of Southampton, PA, passed away peacefully on September 5th. She was 96 years old.

Helen was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Charles Makarski and Mary Grabarski. Helen was a homemaker who lived in Southampton, Bucks County for over 40 years. She was married for over 60 years to her late husband John Novak. Helen loved shopping with her daughters and always made an effort to be well dressed, accessorized with nice jewelry and look impeccably beautiful. She spent much time during the summer with her daughters in Brigantine, New Jersey where they enjoyed visiting the Atlantic City Casinos and dining out with the family. Helen was an avid reader. She had an enormous amount of love for her dog, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

She is survived by her two loving daughters, Karla Angelucci (her husband Robert), Audrey Sedenka  (her husband Allen); her three grandchildren, Jeffrey Angelucci (his wife Gina), Leah Zgalich (her husband Paul) and Laura Connor (her husband Ryan); great grandchildren, Danica and Corinne Zgalich, Dante, Kristian and Gianni Angelucci. She is predeceased by her two sisters, Rita Monaco and Frances Smith.

Family and friends may visit on September 26th from 10am-11am at Our Lady of Good Council at 611 Knowles Avenue, Southampton, PA.  A funeral Mass will follow. Interment will take place at 1:00pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made in Helen’s name to the Women’s Humane Society at www.womensanimalcenter.org or by mail to 3839 Richlieu Road, Bensalem, PA. 19020.
