Our beloved Ellen Agnes (Evans) Atkinson passed away peacefully at home on September 19, 2023, surrounded by family.

Daughter of the late Margaret Dougherty Evans and Jackson Cedrick Evans, she was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania in 1938 and grew up in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, preceded in death by her twin sister, Thois Evans Keil and her brother Donald J. Evans. Ellen is survived by her husband Edward (Ted) C. Atkinson and her four children: Beth Van Fossen (William), Jeffrey Atkinson (Barbara), Sharon Atkinson (Edward), and Gail Atkinson Acosta (John), ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church and attended Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic School (K – 8). She was employed by Bell Telephone (Doylestown location), Bucks County Courthouse, and the U.S. Postal Service as the postmaster of Rushland where she served 24 years. Ellen was the past president of the Buckingham Junior Women's Club and a Bucks County Postmaster association member.

Ellen attended dances at the Albert Atkinson American Legion Post in Doylestown, where she met her husband Ted of 64 years.
