Robert "Bob" J. Bross
In Loving Memory of Robert John Bross
In loving memory of a truly exceptional man, Robert (Bob) Bross, who left us on January 24, 2024. Born on September 24, 1935, Bob's journey was an epic story for sure, written with love, joy, and an unwavering commitment to his family.
Bob, the devoted husband of Maria Kathryn Bross (Conzelman), entered into matrimony on May 6th, 1962. Together, they cherished an incredible 60 years of marriage, which was celebrated in 2022. Bob's love for Maria was boundless, radiating to their three children: Dawn Schmidt (wed to Robert), Sandra Cochran, and Steven Bross (married to Jennifer). His legacy echoes through seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Son to Freda & Robert Senior and brother to William, Bob's life was adorned with significant milestones. Serving with honor in the Navy for four years, he proudly defended his country during the Korean War. Utilizing the GI Bill, he earned his Associates Degree at Spring Garden Institute, a testament to his dedication to both education and service.
"Keep a cool head and a tight rear" wasn't just advice; it was Bob's life philosophy, guiding him through the ebbs and flows. To those who knew him, Bob was the ever-present "Nice Guy," and extremely proud of never missing a school "platter."
Yet, beyond the accolades, Bob was affectionately known as "Nice Guy" Bob. His magnetic personality transformed strangers into friends and friends into family. Every interaction reflected his genuine care—whether offering a helping hand, sharing a hearty laugh, or simply lending a listening ear, Bob made everyone feel cherished.
His competitive spirit knew no bounds, reigning undefeated in every backyard event, but was most known for his flawless play in volleyball. Bob fearlessly embraced challenges, exemplified by statements like "Waiting in lines was not for him," "Undefeated," and "MVP” capturing the essence of his vibrant personality.
From school plays to sports events, Bob never missed a moment, ensuring everything ran smoothly with his trademark "Razzel Dazzel" spirit—a reminder of the liveliness he brought to every occasion.
Bob's legacy is one of love, kindness, and a zest for life. Guided by his mantra "Keep a cool head and a tight rear," he faced challenges with grace. In our hearts, he will forever be remembered as the epitome of a "Nice Guy" or if you were on a higher level in his circle “Uncle Bob.”
Relatives and friends are invited to greet his family on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 10:00AM until his Funeral Service at 11:00AM in the Joseph A.
