Obituaries Jack G. Mitala
Jack G. Mitala died peacefully on March 24, 2024, in Yardley, Pennsylvania. He was 83 years old. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rose Marie Mitala; son John (Hope) and their sons John, Brandt and Austin Ridner; Kevin (Linda), and their children Matt and Paige; Scott (Cory) and their daughters Avery Lynn, Emily Rose and Dallas Towe; brother Ron Mitala (Pat), and nieces and nephews.
Born in McKeesport, Pa., Jack was the son of John and Margaret Mitala. After graduating Drexel University, Jack’s career began with Sears Roebuck in the auditing department, progressing to store comptroller in Parkersburg, West VA and Elmyra, NY, then corporate auditing in Wayne, PA.
After 25 years, Jack joined the finance department of Spiegel Catalog in Chicago. With continued success, Jack was transferred to Huntingdon Valley, PA as CFO of Honeybee, a retail and catalog company, then recruited by Hanover Direct as Vice President of Finance. Despite intentions to retire, he was persuaded to join Deloitte and Touche.
Jack’s career ended in 2001. He enjoyed travelling, and volunteer work; but his greatest joy, and accomplishment, was that of a father and grandfather.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Jack’s family Tuesday, April 2, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM until the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM at St. Andrew’s Church, 81 Swamp Rd. Newtown, PA 18940.
In lieu of flowers, Mass cards would be appreciated.
