Alfred Wilkocz Service Information

Alfred "Al" Wilkocz, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at his home in Chalfont, PA. He was the beloved husband of the late Ruth (Gualtieri) Wilkocz. He was 92 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Leon and Reba (Oldstein) Wilkocz (Welkoc). Brother of the late Fred Wilkocz, and grandfather of the late Melissa Wilkocz.

Al graduated from Edward Bok vocational technical school with a major in auto mechanics. He loved and excelled in sports there, and earned the "Highest Athletic Honors" in both baseball (short stop) being captain of his baseball team, and soccer (goalie). He also played for the Chadmoore Club Football team, #38 and lead the team to win the 1950 Pop Warner Conference Championship.

A United States Navy Veteran, Al served for 2 years active duty as a hospital corpsman, LTJG, Assistant Personnel Officer, and was assigned to the U.S.S. Remey DD where he traveled the world.

Married to the "love of his life" Ruthie, Al worked most of his career as a lead salesman for PECO, where he retired early after 30 years. He then came out of retirement for 5 additional years working as a consultant sales manager for Atlantic Electric in NJ, where he could spend time at the beach where he loved to be, at his Wild Wood Crest home with his wife and family.

Al loved to help others and was a volunteer member of the Lions Club for many years. He loved to go crabbing with his sons, playing golf, playing poker monthly with his sons and grandsons to win the "bracelet", more recently held at their "Chadmoore Clubhouse", and loved all of the numerous family parties, including the annual seafood party.

A Philadelphia native and Philadelphia sports fan, Al attended his annual "Chadmoore Alumni Associations" Eagles watch party with members from the original Chadmoore sports club and their families and friends. Al was so proud to have his family there and the list continued to grow as his family continued to grow.

Al traveled to Italy, Hawaii, New England states, cruises and train journeys to several other destinations making memories with his wife and soulmate Ruth, whom he shared over 70 years of marriage.

Al will be missed very much, but will be remembered for his kind, loving, caring and fun personality and all of the wonderful memories he made with his family and friends over all of the years.

Survivors include his children (and their spouses), Joseph and Donna Wilkocz of Jamison, PA, Gregory and Geri Wilkocz of Horsham, PA, and Maria Wilkocz Parsons of Chalfont, PA; seven grandchildren (and their spouses), Joe and Trisha Wilkocz, Kelly and Mike Lee, Chris and Sarah Wilkocz, Joshua and Kelly Wilkocz, Zachary Wilkocz, Alison and Brady Renn, and Jessica Parsons (Matt Inoa); nine great grandchildren, Cole, Nicholas, Jordyn, Camryn, Chris, Chase, JJ, Chloe, and Jovie; and a sister, Joan and her husband Sid Abrams, many nieces, nephews, brother in-laws, sister in-laws, friends, grand dogs Bruno and Bo.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family Friday, April 5, 2024 from 9:00 am until the prayer service at 10:00 am at the Joseph A. Fluehr III Funeral Home, 241 E. Butler Ave. (at Sandy Ridge Rd.), New Britain. Interment will follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
