Norman J. Bailey Sr., D.C. Service Information

Dr. Norman J. Bailey, Sr., D.C. of Centennial Station in Warminster passed peacefully on Friday, May 31, 2024. He was 86.

Norman was the beloved husband of 60 years to Mary Ann Reich Bailey and father of the late Dr. Norman J. Bailey, Jr., D.C.

Born in Philadelphia, PA he was the son of the late Norman J. and Madalyn T. Graf Bailey.

Dr. Bailey served and was honorably discharged from the United States Army. He graduated from Neshaminy High School. He then graduated from University of Miami in Coral Gables, FL where he was a scholarship recipient. He received his Doctor of Chiropractic from National College of Chiropractic in Lombard, IL in 1963.  In addition to caring for his patients for nearly fifty-five (55) years before retiring, Dr. Bailey was a pioneer for the chiropractic profession. He fought for, and most importantly succeeded, in having chiropractic care covered by insurance with Blue Cross Blue Shield in the Commonwealth after having testified before Congress. He was the Founder and President of the Bucks County Chiropractic Society. Dr. Bailey was also the Founder and President of the Pa. Academy of Chiropractic Physicians. Additionally, he was a member of the Pa. Chiropractic Society. Dr. Bailey was the epitomy of giving back to the community. He was a life-long Rotarian. He was highly involved with the Southampton Businessmen’s Association.

He and Mary Ann were world travelers sometimes going so far as exotic places as Africa, Galapogos Islands, Portugal, Ireland to name a few. They traveled to these places with their friends/neighbors Arnold and Dolores Young and greatly enjoyed doing so for almost thirty (30) years. They also enjoyed traveling throughout the US. He spent much time enjoying his hobby of stamp collecting. Neighbors knew him to love spending his time cleaning up the yard and using the hose for hours.

In addition to his wife Mary Ann, he was survived by his children Scott Bailey and his wife Nell Gibbons Bailey and daughter Christine Bailey Alff and her husband Douglas Alff. He is also survived by his four adoring grandchildren Brandon J. and Connor J. Bailey and Ryan D. and Molly P. Alff. He was the best “Grandpop” the children could have asked for as he adored them to no end. He is also survived by brother-in-law, Edwin Stanley Reich.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday, June 7, 2024 from 10:00am until his Funeral Mass 11:00am at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 611 Knowles Ave. Southampton, PA 18966. His interment will follow at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery, Langhorne.
