Harry J. Veni Service Information

Harry James Veni, 68, of Buckingham, PA entered eternal peace at home on May 31, 2024, surrounded by his wife and children. He will forever be remembered for his zest for life and endless love for family and friends.  

Born on July 23, 1955, to Talina and Angelo Veni, and raised in Newark, New Jersey. His childhood was dedicated to exploring the neighborhood, creating chaos, enjoying the camaraderie of family and friends while learning valuable work ethic, entrepreneurial spirit and trade knowledge working for the family business. 

Ready to take on the world, Harry attended Essex Catholic High School where he began his love of wrestling, then continuing wrestling at Montclair State University where he met the love of his life, Colleen. It was at the University where he perfected his famous dance moves and corny jokes which set the tone for his larger-than-life personality and spirit of adventure. He continued his wrestling passion while with his young family in Union, New Jersey where he also began introducing his sons to the world of youth wrestling and Boy Scouts. These passions carried over to when the family moved to Buckingham, PA. His sons moved on to become Eagle Scouts as well as being diversified in various sports where Harry was there to either coach or just to cheer them on.

Harry’s career was as colorful and dynamic as his personality. He kicked things off being a master Pizza Pie Maker, crafting masterpieces that were the talk of the town. His culinary journey then soared to new heights with a stint in Restaurant & Catering Management, where his parties were legendary and his food unforgettable. Ever the tech enthusiast, he shifted gears to his own consulting company, Viking Computer Services, where he enjoyed working as an IT Computer Consultant at such companies as Siemens and La Prairie. He cherished his relationship with many of his co-workers at both companies and continued their friendship outside of the work environment. He will miss the camaraderie of this core group that he and Colleen occasionally met for dinner, enjoying fine food and lively conversations often leaving everyone in hysterics. 

Harry’s passions were as diverse and vibrant as he was. His most cherished role, by far, was being a rad dad - a job he took seriously yet handled with the kind of playful spirit that made every day an adventure. Family always came first, serving as the heart of his world and the inspiration behind his legendary parties and gatherings. He was the undisputed champion, providing ten times the amount of food needed. He was a wrestling aficionado serving as an assistant coach at CB East High School, never missing a match and could often be found practicing his moves with his kids or any unlikely fellow that would accept his challenge. He felt a special bond to his wrestling family keeping in touch with many of the boys and their families well after he retired from coaching. Italy also held a special place in his heart, from the cuisine to the culture, and he was always paying homage to the land of la dolce vita. And let's not forget golf, which was his serene escape, where he enjoyed the challenge as much as the camaraderie, either playing or working as a Starter / Ranger. His love for golf and Italy merged perfectly with fellow Italians to begin the Italian Golf League.

His community and social life were a whirlwind of activity. As a proud member of the Republican Club, he was known for his spirited debates and infectious enthusiasm. He became a Buckingham Township Auditor for six years during which time he helped Supervisors research and shut down an Airport expansion, a Round-About near his neighborhood and work for over a decade to provide CB East students with a much needed and long overdue Stadium.

Harry recently celebrated 43 years of marriage to his sweetheart, Colleen Veni, to whom he loved with all his heart and was able to celebrate with a recent trip to Hawaii and California. He leaves his legacy to his children Nicholas (Elyse), Marisa (Dustin), Matthew (Brianna) and Bryan (Mercedes) to carry on with grandchildren Dylan, Landon, Luke, Brooke, Marlaina, Amara and Baby Veni (September 2024) whom he taught a little bit of mischief, enjoyment of sour patch kids and that lots of love can fix just about anything. He also leaves behind his sister Diane, many nieces, nephews, friends from all over the world and is predeceased in death by his older brother, Joseph.

There was never a shortage of joy and laughter for those around him and his love and adventurous spirit will surely continue to inspire those he left behind.

In celebration of Harry’s extraordinary life and enduring legacy, the family asks you to live big and love bigger, every day. Visitation will be held at Fluehr Funeral Home in New Britain, PA. on Friday, June 7th from 5pm-8pm. Please look at the website for specific information for directions. Church Services will be held at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Doylestown, PA on Saturday, June 8th at 11am. Interment to follow at St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont, PA. We invite friends and family to share their experiences and memories of Harry.
