George Nickles

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father, George Nickles, who left us on June 7, 2024. He was a cherished husband, a devoted father and a dear friend to all who knew him. His departure has left an irreplaceable void in our lives, but his love, guidance and memories will forever resonate in our hearts. George carried the memory of his late wife, Mary Lou Nickles, cherishing her love and holding onto their enduring bond throughout the years. Now, they are finally reunited, forever together in eternal peace.

Born on February 8, 1941 in Philadelphia, George was the son of William and Mary Nickles (Demetriou). From a young age, his infectious laughter and vibrant spirit brightened the lives of those around him. George's loving nature was evident in all aspects of his life, especially in his role as a husband, father and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were the center of his world, and he showered them with unconditional love and guidance. He served as a nurturing father, offering unwavering support and guidance through life's joys and struggles. George was not only a parent but also a friend, always ready to lend an ear, offer advice and share a laugh. George touched the lives of countless individuals with his kindness, generosity and compassion. He had a unique ability to make everyone feel valued and loved, always ready with a warm smile and a listening ear.

George leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and resilience. He is survived by his children, William Nickles (Nellie), Christina Ashmen (Shawn), Lauren Friel (Ryan) and his stepdaughter, Tina Ryan; sister, Olga Zanikos (Isidoros); and 10 beautiful grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Nick Nickles.  His memory will forever live in the hearts of his loved ones, who will continue to honor his legacy through the values he instilled in them.

Family and friends are welcome to visit the family on Wednesday, June 12th from 10am-11am at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 81 Swamp Road, Newtown, PA.
