Condolences for Jimi Taro Patrick

Anthony SchuellerMonday, July 17th

I wish to extend my deepest condolences to the family of Jimi Taro Patrick, especially his mother and his grandparents. Like so many others, I have followed the story of the disappearance of the four young men from Bucks County, hoping for a better outcome for them and their families. Jimi was a fine young man, a tribute to the love shown him by his family. His life was full of promise. As a Catholic priest, I pray for his peace and for the comfort and healing of all who have been touched by these tragic events.

Anthony WestbrookTuesday, July 18th

Peace be upon you and your family. You raised a Great boy. This is a tragedy. Your family is a true testament to love. May God Bless You now and forever, and as He took Jimi in his loving arms, may He also console you that Jimi is safe and loved now. Your love will never be forgotten, I pray for comfort, peace and solace...and faith that God will never let go of you, either. He knows how much you are hurting and is there for you and for all of us. Lord have Mercy, Christ have mercy, Lord have Mercy.

“There is no foot too small that it cannot leave an imprint on this world”
As we can see by all the outpouring of support & uplifting comments on social media, these men left a lasting imprint. These words may seem inadequate to express the sorrow felt by the loss of your son. My heart is with you. RIP Jimi

I didn't know any of the boys involved, and in fact, no longer live in the area, having moved to Connecticut at the end of last year. But, I am constantly thinking about your loss and my heart is heavy. God bless your family at this difficult time.

Donna Besler tatemTuesday, July 18th

This sweet young man was so much like my own son (whom I also lost at the age of 19) from the Montessori preschool to the brilliance they both were blessed with. I wish I could take your pain away but I can't; what I can do is to share with you that two years later, my pain is not so piercing and I have taken my loss and used it to help others. I have found that my son lives on through many and this beautiful young man......will also live in the hearts of many. How have I gotten through each day? I remind myself that these young people are Gods children and they have gone Home to be with Him. We were blessed by 19 years of love and smiles abd we will all be together again some day. I have a heavy heart for the entire family and I am sending you huge hugs and many prayers. This is where your Faith will be challenged.... please know that God has never left your side. One day this will all be explained. Blessings, Donna Besler Tatem

Dear Mr. & Mrs. Patrick,

We don’t personally know one another but I live in Philadelphia; I am a graduate of Nazareth Academy and I am one of the many that watched this terrible and senseless tragedy unfold. Almost thirty years ago HGP was NA’s “brother” school and I certainly feel the connection.

There are no words I can offer to make your world whole again but know-- the loss of your beautiful young man is felt by many. The goodness of his soul and character shines through his eyes and smile every time I see his photo appear on my screen and is a credit to you—those that loved him most! What a fine job you did raising an amazing, intelligent and caring boy! How lucky you were to have had one another for nineteen years!

My deepest and most sincere condolences, I cannot begin to understand the depths of your sorrow and suffering over the course of these last few weeks and in the weeks, months and years to come. I pray that you find solace in the knowledge that he has found comfort in the arms of God until you see each other again. I send you love and light and will keep Jimi, you and your family in my prayers.

When I am keenly feeling the absence of those I love; I read this poem which gives me some comfort, I hope it does for you as well.

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die. --Mary Elizabeth Frye

Sharon and Rich, I can not even begin to imagine what you are going through. I taught Jimi at St. Andrew Preschool and will always remember him as a sweet loving boy. I was touched to read all that he has accomplished in such a short time. In reading through the many comments it is abundantly clear he has touch many lives. Be comforted in your love for him and may God continue to watch over you. Love and Prayers, Lisa

Joan RobsonWednesday, July 19th

My sincere condolences to all of you. Words cannot express how sad this is, I can't even imagine what you are going through. Even though I don't know you, my prayers and thoughts are with you all.

Dorothy BaileyWednesday, July 19th

I would like to share a poem with you that I had written for Jimi, it's titled " In Loving Memory"
Dear Family, Friends & Loved Ones,
I know I left in such a hurry,
And never meant to cause you worry;
But please be happy for me,
Because I'm in Heaven, with God you see,
What happened was part of God's plan,
And He reached down and grabbed my hand;
I reached up and held Him tight,
For my miraculous flight;
So now in Heaven I will wait,
Until you come through the Golden Gate;
So please don't cry for me,
Because this was the end of my journey;
I'm no longer out there on the roam,
I'm finally, "Safely Home"!
Love,
Jimi

To the family- There are no words anyone can say to take away the immense grief you are experiencing. Know that there are so many people in the community that feel this grief too.

“Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. And where I go you know, and the way you know.” John 14: 1-4

To the Patrick Family,
Please know that you are in the thoughts and prayers of so many. Though I do not know your family I am the Mother of 3 Holy Ghost graduates, the tragedy that your family is experiencing is unimaginable. The only way to endure this loss is to turn to your faith knowing that the times that we cannot seem to find God we can rest assured in the knowledge that this is when he will find us.
Jimi seemed like a fine young man with great promise, this is a testament to the love and support he was shown his whole life. His journey is over but yours is just beginning, may you find your way.
