Condolences for Robert McCook, Jr.

Arnie and Joyce StenTuesday, June 11th

Dear Maureen and family,
We are so very saddened by your great loss with Bob’s passing. He loved the Lord and is with Him now. We pray that assurance gives you comfort. So many happy times and fond memories come to mind when we think of Bob. How many young people did he introduce to the Lord! Bob made a difference in many lives. “Well done thy good and faithful servant.”

Be Young 237 Stoyer Rd. Coatesville, PA 19320Wednesday, June 12th

Dearest Maureen, Lisa, Peter, David and families: I am remembering how wonderful it was to have you as neighbors when we moved into our first home. You were there for us in ways you may not realize. We learned what good neighbors really are, the role faith plays in growing a family, and how to ask for and accept help when you need it. I have fond recollections of Bob strolling over to tell me how to prune a tree, or why we should plant forsythia across the creek even though bridal wreath would look much better. He also witnessed his faith as did Maureen and Lisa. Your family challenged us to be a better unit, and to seek God's guidance in navigating our lives. Bob was a Young Life force in Chester County and far beyond, but the McCook Family was a force in our lives and will remain the source of many of our family's fond memories. May you find solace in your memories, the love you shared, and in the person Bob McCook was for you as well as so many. I will miss him, too. With love, Be Young and Family.

My heart is heavy knowing Bob is no longer with us but is jubilant because he now sees his Savior face to face. Bob practiced what he “preached”. For years Bob was there for me as he listened to my problems and gave me wise counsel and prayer. He did that for many men. Maureen and family, I grieve with you yet rejoicethat Bob is now in the arms of his Savior. John 3:16.

I will always be grateful for the impact that Bob McCook has had on my life. Bob McCook was a godly man who was burdened for the souls of the young people and encouraged us in our spiritual walk with the Lord. He was such a joyful, upbeat person. I was saved at a Young Life retreat and attended both the Young Life meetings and the Campaigner meetings at the house of the Cornelius family. What a joy to go to the Saranac Lake camp in the Adirondacks! Being involved in Young Life was the highlight of my teen years. What a tremendous blessing to attend the weekly meetings and fellowship with other believers. The entire Young Life staff was so accepting. It had met such a need in my life. I have been involved wth CHILD EVANGELISM FELLOWSHIP OF EASTERN PA ministry for 30 plus years, and have been the director in York County for over 27 years. The Lord used Bob McCook to make a great difference in my life and in so many other teens' lives. He finished well, and his reward will be great in heaven.
