Condolences for Lisa A. Palmer (Rein)

Antoinette and Kathryn BarrettFriday, August 5th

My daughter, Kathryn, Grade 8 at SHMS, had the privilege of a very special friendship with our former WSSD Superintendent, Dr. Lisa Palmer.
They met in first grade at Kathryn's first Book Fair event. They instantly hit it off and started a tradition of exchanging favorite books at Christmas time.
Kathryn took so much pride when Dr. Palmer would visit her at school. Proudly sharing, that is my FRIEND Dr. Palmer.
Kathryn loved visiting her at her office and Dr. Palmer kept a board in her office with notes, drawings, and pictures of the kids.
Dr. Palmer was a woman who always had so much energy, kept a spare suit in her office closet so she could attend an event even at the last minute, and genuinely made time to come out and support all the kids from kindergarten to senior year.
We were so heartbroken to learn of her passing. Our thoughts are with her biggest pride and joy - her two sons.
In her retirement note, she wrote, "The gratitude I have for everyone is immeasurable, and it has been the honor of my career to serve this wonderful community. I have treasured my ten years at the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District and will forever be a proud panther!"
We feel the same way! Dr. Lisa Palmer is forever a proud panther. You will be truly missed.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your mom was such a wonderful and sweet person. I loved working with her. She always had a smile on her face and was always kind. I hope that your memories will comfort you during this sad time. May each day lessen your pain and sadness.

Warmly,
Susan

I did not know Dr Palmer personally, but did chat with her occasionally in an elevator or hallway at SHHS. The first time I heard Dr Palmer speak, I sensed her warmth and genuineness as well as her fierce commitment to the WSSD community. I am saddened to hear of her loss. My condolences to her children and all those who knew and loved her. God speed Dr Palmer. It was a privilege to have met you.❤️ Sincerely, Pat Sharpe
