I am so sorry to have heard this news, My Uncle Mertz was a great man. I loved him like my own Dad, who by the way, was his Best Friend. They are both Home with Our Lord, back together, laughing as they did for many years.
All the years going to Eagles Games since I was 10 years with my Uncle Mertz. Picking my dad and I with that tiny VW Beatle driving to Franklin Field and then the Old Vet. Great times.
In my older years, my Uncle Mertz taught me the secrets of the game of golf. He started playing in his senior years and was a student of the game. When I played with him, he insisted I drive the cart and he was beside me every time. I enjoyed that time so much.

Uncle Mertz will always be my "Uncle" but was so much closer than that. He was a big part of my life experiences and will be missed by all.

Prays and God's Blessing to my Aunt Gloria for strength and it all the Vasso Family.

Sherly and family sorry for your lost

LOUIS SALTZGUEBERWednesday, August 17th

My wife, Camille, and I are deeply saddened to learn of Mertz's passing. In the fullest sense of the word, Mertz was a true "gentleman."
I thoroughly enjoyed the times we were in his company. Trips to the Eagles, discussions about his everlasting 'hope' for the Phillies etc.
He, and Gloria, always took the time to ask about our family and how they were doing.
To say we will miss him would be a great understatement. Our best wishes to Gloria and all of the Vasso family.
