Al was a friend to so many of us. I know we all have stories to tell. Lots of shared experiences and some that are truly our own.

But for me, Friendship, Laughter and Love, that was Al. The trifecta of a good friend.

I will miss your infectious laugh and your unforgettable lean. You had a heart of gold. So many laughs and happy memories….parties & parlays, going to see bands, concerts and sporting events or just hanging out at the house listening to 🎵 music. What I will miss most are the simple things that were uniquely Al. Your spirit and sense of humor. Al was the life of the party, but also a sweet, homebody that was generous and kind to his people and pets. A collector of treasures and hearts. I’m lucky to have had a friend like you in my life. My heartfelt condolences and prayers are with your family, friends and the Pizza City crew past and present XOXO. My heart goes out to George, Mary, and all those that loved him. I’m thankful for the time I spent at Pizza City and cherish the memories. It’s too hard to say goodbye so until we meet again, rest in peace my forever friend.
All my love, Jo-Jo

Al,
You will forever be my Fraternity Brother, my Best Man, and my Best Friend.

When I was a kid, I wanted a real brother. I finally got one when I met you forty years ago.

For all that time, you were always there for me. I was proud to call you my Best Friend. And even more proud when you would tell people that we were brothers.

I’m heartbroken that I will never get to hear your laugh or see your smile again. But I am thankful that Jo-Jo and I both got to share our lives with you and your irrepressible joy.

Peace to you, my Brother Al.

With all my love,
Joe

Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear of Al's passing. Al and Pizza City were a great part of my teenage era. I have so many fond memories. Although I lost touch through the years, I'd occasionally run into him in Trevose. It did not matter how much time had passed, he never changed. Always smiling and sharing a joke like old times. I will always remember him as a genuine friend with a great sense of humor. I am sure he is having quite the celebration up there with the old crew, Jacko, Drew and Sean. Sending love and prayers to the Clarke family during this most difficult time. May he rest peacefully in God's hands now!

So very sorry for loss. Al was a great guy. My family goes way back with the Clarke family. Both of my parents, Betty and Carl , my stepdad, Buddy, both of my brothers, Mike and Bill and, most recently, my son , Jordan have worked at Pizza City. All of northeast Philly knows Al, George and Pizza City, always a neighborhood place. If someone says pizza city, they automatically think of Al. He was a friend to many, many people and he will be greatly missed. Prayers to all of his family at this very difficult time.
