Ramesh Khemchand Punwani

Ramesh Khemchand Punwani died peacefully on Sunday, February 25, 2024, at his home in Holland, PA. He was 81 years old.

Ramesh was the beloved husband of Chandra Ramesh Punwani (Bhawnani). Born in Karachi, India, he was the only son of the late Khemchand and Lachmi Punwani (Chainani).

In addition to his wife Chandra, Ramesh was the loving father of Annisha Zegarski (Anthony Mazzacano), and Anjali Shadle (Joel Shadle); and grandfather of four beautiful grandchildren who were the absolute joy of his life; Sanjana and Arianna Zegarski and Devan and Maya Shadle.

Ramesh spent his youth in India where he attended the prestigious Cathedral School and India Institute of Technology in Bombay. He then boarded a ship and traversed the globe to the United States, arriving through Ellis Island, to attend college at Cornell University where he received master’s degrees in industrial engineering and management science. He received his master’s in business administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business and completed his education at Columbia University.

Ramesh will forever be remembered for the devotion he had to his adoring family, with whom he spent every waking hour until the day he passed. He was like a second father and brother to his extended family and friends whom he treated as part of his own household. Additionally, Ramesh was a brilliant mathematician and business leader who reached the pinnacle of the travel industry as a finance executive during his highly decorated professional career.

His family invites relatives and friends to celebrate his life with them from 1:00 to 2:00pm on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Joseph A Fluehr III Funeral Home, 800 Newtown Richboro Road (at Holland Road) in Richboro, PA 18954. Followed by a prayer service that will take place at 2:00pm and all are invited to join. Interment will be held privately.

Flowers may be sent to the Joseph A. Fleuhr III Funeral Home, or contributions in Ramesh’s memory may be made to World Wildlife Fund, whose cause held a special meaning to him.
